WHY has partnered with Dr. Amanda Fallin-Bennett at the University of Kentucky in order to address specific issues that queer women face in our society.
Queer women is a term used to describe sexual and gender minorities, which are under represented in research, such as lesbian, bisexual women, or transwomen. Queer women face many additional health disparities due to the extra stress from stigma and discrimination. Our work with queer women is vital in order to gain knowledge which will help alleviate disparities queer women are currently facing.
